Uke Neko Shounen

to start off my new drawing book, i was going to draw this punk, cool goth boy. how he turned into an uke catboy, i don't know. makes me wonder who's holding the other end of the chain. i so want his clothes. actually, i want him.

i painted the above pic. shadow didn't come out quite right, and not quite sure i like the wall, but the window came out cool, and he came out cool. the chains are actually metalic paint, but you can't tell in the scan. (btw, paint doesn't scan well). it's been YEARS since i last painted, so this was a fun project.

can you tell i was having fun with this piece? after i put my paints away for the night, i crashed out in front of the telly with my good marker set and did another color version. i need more markers. i don't have nearly enough variety for what i want to do.

i (tried) to paint a sketch i did back when i was in Japan (last pic in book 11.5). i love how the hair came out, but the shading on the body didn't work at all, so his body looks weird. the face isnt' quite the same as the original sketch, which also really changes the feel of the piece. i'll try again.

Eien no Momento

I think I sketched her from looking a similarly dressed/posed model from a magazine. I really like how her face came out.

Rocker

One of these days I should ink and colour her, since I think she came out very nicely. No model for her, no story behind her. Just a cool rocker-chick.
