Poem by Izumi Shikibu (976?-1033?) in the handwriting style of Emperor Go-Tsuchimikado translated and painted by Li Izumi. This classical Japanese poem is read:
Kaze dani mo
Fuki harahazu wa
Niwazakura
Chiru tomo haru no
Hodo wa mitemashi |
If at least the wind
Did not sweep away the blooms...
Although the sakura petals fall,
I would still see spring.
