How does an artistic style develop? Here are some samples of my work over the last 16 years. They show the "evolution" of my style. And the early stuff is pretty amusing. This should give everyone who is just starting and doesn't think they are any good hope, and everyone else a laugh.

--Grade 5 (Age 10)--

My friend Jay always drew fashion models in math class. I thought they were cool, so I started drawing them as well. Fashion Design was not my future career, but the drawing stuck.
Pretty in Pink was among my earliest drawings during that initial period.

--Grade 6 (Age 11)--

My style changed very quickly from the circle heads I started with to a slightly (?) more realistic shape.
Diamond Queen was my favorite drawing from that period, even after my style had changed further.

--Grade 8 (Age 13)--

Four examples of an intermediate style... I thought I would include a later version of the above dress for comparison. The second drawing represents several traditional things from my early drawing style. First, both arms are behind her back. (Don't have to draw hands that way). And her funny leg pose was another standard. At this time, I was trying to branch out from the pose I typically did - both hands behind the back. The result: Monster shoulders. However, her legs are very traditional for my early style. Finally, the fourth drawing is Mallory, a character that actually had an attitude and personality.

--Discovery of Anime (Age 17)--

Once I discovered anime, my style very rapidly morphed into my current style. It was rather instantaneous with very little transition from one to the other. Here are a few examples of my early foreys into anime.
